Note on the A/B Day Schedule
Students who live in an apartment, duplex, or unit will use the actual number of the dwelling to determine the day for attendance. For example, Apartment #4 will attend with the even-address students (B days), while Apartment #21 will attend with the odd-address students (A days). Students whose home address uses only letters will use the following to determine days of school attendance: A-1, B=2, C=3, etc.
All students are required to have a fully clear (no colored tint) or solid color mesh (no prints or designs) backpack.
All students may carry (1) clear tote, not exceeding 12" x 6" x 12".
All students are allowed to bring (1) a non-transparent bag no larger than 5.5" x 7.5" for personal items and (1) a non-transparent lunch bag approximately 9" x 6" x 5".
The two non-transparent bags may be carried in the student's backpack or clear tote. A Chromebook inserted into a laptop sleeve is also permitted in a backpack or clear tote.
Extracurricular bags and equipment do not have to be transparent. They must be stowed in an area designated by each school immediately upon arrival on campus.

New this year, outerwear must be solid in color when worn indoors. Click here to learn more about the new guidelines or to read the student dress code in its entirety.
All families should create a Parent Portal account for JCampus. This is where you will see your student(s) bus information and class schedule, as well as other important information such as grades and attendance records, and view messages previously sent by the school or district. Please click here to access the desktop site, where you will also find instructions on how to create or change login information.
The portal is live for the 2024-2025 school year. Please note that student schedules will not be accessible until the first day of school. Please keep all contact information up to date in the Parent Portal and rely only on information released by the district.
Upon your first login of the school year you will be prompted to approve permissions in order for your student to utilize school technology.
This year we are partnering with JCampus as the district's on-the-go information source for parents & families. This on-the-go app allows you to see your student’s academic progress, in real time with access to grades, attendance, and discipline. Some features include:
- Mass notifications and Urgent Alerts with two-way communication
- Mobile application for administrators and parents (free iOS and Android download)
- Teacher and classroom communication
- Direct Messaging with two-way translation
- Forms and Permission Slips
- Calendar and RSVP
- Volunteering and classroom supply sign-ups
We are strongly urging all parent guardians to download the app to help us facilitate the most efficient two-way communication system for your students. To access the app download, use the links below:

The Lafayette Parish School System has a deep concern for the safety and security of its students, employees, and visitors. During the 2024-2025 school year, we will continue to utilize the CEIA OPENGATE weapons detection system on all our campuses. All school campus students will be screened daily as they enter the school building. Bookbags may also be randomly searched during this screening procedure. Should there be an alert, we will expect full cooperation from the student in determining the root cause. Searches to resolve such alerts will be conducted on the spot. Failure to cooperate or submit to additional screening as requested by staff may result in disciplinary consequences.

Based on current eligibility, all LPSS school sites will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program for the 2024-2025 school year. CEP is an alternative to the traditional Meal Benefit Application Program that qualifies the individual student to receive free or reduced-price meals. Due to the increased number of students who are directly certified to receive free meal benefits through other federal programs, all LPSS students will benefit from the CEP program.
What does this mean for students enrolled at LPSS schools?
- All students are now eligible to receive breakfast and lunch meals at school for the entire school year at no charge.
- The traditional Meal Benefit application will be replaced with an Economic Data Survey. This survey will be requested from the household of a student who does not receive the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Medicaid benefits; only one survey per household is needed.
- Student household data reported in the Economic Data Survey will be used only for the purpose of obtaining state and federal funding for LPSS
- Households will be notified when the Economic Data Survey is available, in both paper and electronic format.
The call center will officially open on July 29, 2024. It will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to answer questions and assist with your student's transportation needs
