The Lafayette Parish School System is pleased to announce the appointment of Donovan Cade Soileau as the new principal of Ridge Elementary School. Mr. Soileau replaces Rhonda Dickerson, who was recently named Chief of Elementary Schools for LPSS.
Mr. Soileau brings more than a decade of experience in education, having served the past two years as Assistant Principal at Ridge Elementary. A dedicated educator and leader, he began his teaching career in Evangeline Parish as a coach and social studies teacher. He joined LPSS in 2014 as a physical education teacher at J.W. Faulk Elementary before transferring to Ridge Elementary in 2017.
During his time at Ridge, Mr. Soileau partnered with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to become a certified Mentor Teacher Coach, an experience that inspired him to pursue a Master’s in Educational Leadership. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, growth, and meeting the diverse needs of all students.
“I am truly honored and excited to lead Ridge Elementary School as principal,” said Mr. Soileau. “I am dedicated to supporting the students, staff, and families here at Ridge. From the moment I joined this school as a young educator, I knew Ridge was a special place. I look forward to continuing our journey toward excellence and building on the strong foundation already in place.”
LPSS Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr. expressed confidence in Mr. Soileau’s ability to lead the school forward.
“Mr. Soileau brings a strong sense of purpose and a deep commitment to Ridge Elementary. His leadership is rooted in student-centered values and a passion for growth. I am confident he will build upon the successes of Ridge and continue fostering a positive, achievement-driven environment,” said Touchet.
The Lafayette Parish School System welcomes Mr. Soileau into his new role and looks forward to the continued success of Ridge Elementary under his leadership.
