The Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) values the strong partnership it shares with Love Our Schools, a foundation dedicated to supporting initiatives that enhance educational excellence. Through this collaboration, LPSS continues to uphold its four pillars: culture, opportunity, growth, and safety—ensuring students thrive in a positive learning environment.
As part of its ongoing commitment to LPSS, Love Our Schools is hosting Serve Day on Saturday, March 22, 2025. This special event will bring together volunteers from across the community to assist with student motivation and school beautification projects at seven campuses. From landscaping and pressure washing to decorating and setting up educational spaces, these projects will directly impact students and staff by fostering an engaging and welcoming atmosphere.
Serve Day 2025 Projects:
- Katharine Drexel Elementary – Pressure washing, light landscaping, and painting front windows with LEAP testing encouragement.
- Scott Middle – Landscaping at the front sign and decorating a teacher lounge.
- L. Leo Judice Elementary – Repainting the car rider line, as well as refreshing the interior lounge and bathrooms.
- Northside High – Resetting outdoor seating, pressure washing, and updating bulletin boards.
- Comeaux High – Pressure washing, assembling library furniture, and adding decorative touches.
- Milton Elementary/Middle – Litter pickup following the Spring Carnival.
- Live Oak Elementary – Installing a literacy garden, adding furniture and potted plants, and creating an outdoor science classroom.
