After nearly 65 years at its Chaplin Drive location, the administrative offices of the Lafayette Parish School System have moved. Now open to the public, the 78,000 sq. ft. office building is located at 202 Rue Iberville, and will house the district’s main central office departments. Also relocating to this complex is the official boardroom of Lafayette Parish School Board, anticipated in the fall of 2023.
“As the lead education agency for our region, and for the public we serve, we are pleased to offer more services under one roof,” says Superintendent Irma Duplechain Trosclair. “During the planning stages we kept families at the forefront and felt it important to place our most visited departments in close proximity to one another. We have made more resources available and added features to make meeting the needs of our families, employees, and the public smoother and more efficient.”
Additional properties include the N.P. Moss Annex, located at 207 Town Center Parkway, where families will find the district’s federal and early childhood program offices, along with the sales tax office. Expected to open soon is the bus and maintenance facility, located at 3030 NE Evangeline Thruway.
