The Lafayette Parish School System is pleased to announce that Bridget Malveaux has been named principal of Early College Academy. She is replacing Mr. Alex Melton who accepted the position of principal of David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy.
“Ms. Malveaux possesses the character traits necessary to lead Early College Academy,” states Superintendent Trosclair. “She is dedicated to her profession and brings a wealth of administrative experience. I am excited to see her step into the role of principal of Early College Academy.”
Prior to this recent appointment, Ms. Malveaux taught biology at Northside and Comeaux High Schools as well as 5th grade at the American International School at Lagos, Nigeria, and 5th grade at Lincoln Community School in Accra Ghana. She has also served as an instructional leader and assistant principal at Comeaux High School. Ms. Malveaux says, “I look forward to maintaining ECA’s number one ranking in the state and continuing to grow the excellence that is exhibited everyday at ECA.”
Ms. Malveaux has 15 years of experience as an educator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education in Biology from the University of Louisiana Lafayette and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
