From the Superintendent...

I am so excited about this school year!  I say that sincerely.  It is very true that we have had to face down difficulty after difficulty, especially in the past few months.  It is true we don't yet have a permanent budget. And, because of that we are lacking some of the materials and textbooks we should have in place. But, the wonderful thing is you can't keep great teachers down.  Our teachers are coming back with as much enthusiasm as ever and figuring out with the help of capable and qualified central office professionals how to accomplish our goals with ingenuity and imagination.

 

Capable new hires are coming into the district.  Our principals are focused and are confident in themselves and their staffs.  Our buildings are cleaner and safer than ever. Read More

 


Gold Star Recipient - September 2014  

Nominated by her principal, Jody Duhon, this month's Gold Star is Ann DeClouette, a Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) Specialist assigned to N. P. Moss Preparatory Academy.  She says, "I enjoy working with young adults helping them explore their future careers and fulfilling their dreams through education.  I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to the community. I firmly believe in paying it forward."  Read More  

 
 
Office of Risk Management announces open enrollment dates are September 15 through November 17, 2014. 
 

Employees may make changes in their employee benefit selections. Changes made during open enrollment become effective January 1, 2015 and will reflect on the payroll check you receive in December 2014. Learn more about the Flexing Spending Plan and you must complete a new enrollment for form for 2015 even if you participated in 2014. Read More
