In Lafayette Parish approximately 591 middle school students are over-age, meaning they are at least one year older than their classmates.  Already embarrassed and awkward, they often struggle when material becomes harder and testing becomes more frequent.  They grow angry and frustrated, which can sometimes lead into a downward behavioral and academic spiral. Old GEE Test to be administered


The 1999-2000 tenth graders are the last students who must pass all five parts of the Old Graduation Exit Examination ("Old GEE") to earn a high school diploma. Any students who became a tenth grader between 1988 and 1999 and did not pass all five parts of the "Old GEE" are eligible to attend the Fall administration of this test from Monday, October 21, 2013 through Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Lafayette Parish School Board.
