You have likely heard that the Lafayette Parish School Board is currently evaluating proposals from companies who are competing to manage the medical and prescription drug claims for our group health benefits plan.  Our plan is self-insured, which means we collect premiums from our members and pay our own claims; hence, we are ourselves the "insurance company."  The size of our plan requires that we hire a company who processes and manages our claims.  The role of that company is very important because the careful and thorough management of claims is necessary to manage costs.  If our claim costs increase, our premiums increase because we fund our plan ourselves...  Read More
Lafayette Parish School Board to vote on Charter School Applicants
On Wednesday, September 18th the School Board will decide on whether to approve applications from two separate organizations.
