From the Superintendent...
Five Faculty Forums were held from April 29 to May 13.  Faculty had the opportunity to hear more details about the 100% In. 100% Out Plan. In this edition of our e-newsletter is the second part of a three part summary of the discussion held during our Faculty Forum sessions. This edition as well as the next e-newsletter will continue the dialogue discussed between the LPSS faculty and myself. Performance Rating
In his opening comments last night, Dr. Cooper reported on some of the gains being made because of the 100% In. 100% Out. Turn Around Plan. "We are now No. 1 in the state for our increase in the number of students who scored an 18 or above on the ACT, a college readiness exam. The score 18 is significant because it a common threshold for college admissions." He also credited the Plan for the reduction in dropouts this year, with preliminary reports showing a significant decrease from last year and the year before from 400-500 to less than 300 dropouts...
