Kaye Victorian Named Principal of Scott Middle School

LPSS has selected Carencro Middle School Vice Principal Kaye Victorian to be the new principal of Scott Middle School. She replaces Venus Soileau, who was recently named principal of Lafayette Online Academy.

“I’m very confident in the future of Scott Middle School with Kaye Victorian at the helm,” said Superintendent Trosclair. “She is a dedicated professional who brings a wealth of leadership experience to this new role.”

Victorian has more than two decades of experience in education that includes classroom instruction, library management, administration and program supervision. She began her career in St. Landry Parish as a teacher at South Street Elementary before moving on to other positions in the district, eventually becoming principal of Creswell Elementary School in Opelousas. In 2013, she was hired as principal of Green T. Lindon Elementary School in Lafayette Parish, and she has continued to work in the district ever since.

In addition to those administrative positions, Victorian has also overseen the district’s libraries and media center and worked as a Lafayette GEAR UP program supervisor. Her broad range of experience in different aspects of the school system has provided a solid foundation for her continued success, most recently as Carencro Middle School Vice Principal.

She is excited to step in as leader of Scott Middle School: “I’m excited to work with the amazing administrators, teachers and staff at Scott Middle to make it the best school it can be, and to provide all our students with the high quality education that they deserve,” says Victorian.

In addition to her experience in education, Victorian holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with certifications in Pre-K through eighth grade, as well as library science. She earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from LSU-Shreveport where she was part of the Louisiana Leader Fellowship Program. She also participated in the National Institute of School Leadership Principal Fellowship Program through the Lafayette Parish School System Cohort.
