Lafayette Parish Leadership Institute Hosts Inaugural Session
The Lafayette Parish School System recently hosted its inaugural Lafayette Parish Leadership Institute. The goal of the leadership institute is to build a pipeline of future leaders in the district. Instructional leaders and educational coaches are encouraged to apply to this program. Participants must have completed or are currently seeking a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. The first cohort of participants will undergo six training sessions.
Janine LaFleur, director of elementary schools, says the response to the Leadership Institute has been great! “To work as an educational leader in Lafayette Parish is a very rewarding job. It is however extremely challenging. To see so many of our current teachers who want to take on that task is exciting! It is very important to our students and teachers that we prepare and grow our future leaders to serve in our district prior to them every accepting a new position.”
