Lafayette High School, Performing Arts Academy, District Administrative Rule

At last night’s board meeting it was determined by the board to move the Performing Arts Academy to Comeaux High School for the 2017-2018 school year. Concerns have been expressed through social media outlets regarding seniors and their ability to remain at Lafayette High School. At the beginning of this school year the board adopted the “District Administrative Rule/School Attendance Areas Rule ”. This document outlines the process and conditions for a senior to remain at Lafayette High. Sibling placement at Lafayette High will be considered for one year with this rule.  The board has directed the Superintendent to present a plan for transitioning the Performing Arts Academy to Comeaux High School for the 2017-2018 school year. The “District Administrative Rule/School Attendance Areas Rule ” provisions will be applied for all affected students. The Performing Arts Academy will remain at Lafayette High School for one additional school year, 2016-2017.
