LPSS Supt. Dr. Donald Aguillard Appoints Library Science Spclst. and Student Services Coordinators

Geri Kaye Victorian has been appointed Library Science Specialist. Ms. Victorian earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from UL Lafayette and a Master of Education Degree from LSU Shreveport. She served as an elementary teacher for 8 years at South Street Elementary School in Opelousas. She was a librarian at Opelousas Senior High School for 3 years, an Administrative Intern at Port Barre High School through the LA Leaders Fellows Program. She was an Assistant Principal at Opelousas Jr. High School for 2 years and Principal at Creswell Elementary School in Opelousas for 2 years. In April of 2013, she was appointed Acting Assistant Principal at Milton Elementary/Middle and Youngsville Middle School before becoming Principal of G.T. Lindon Elementary for the 2013-2014 school year.

Tonya Hebert and Pauline Duplantis have been appointed Coordinators of Counseling Services and Student Placement. Ms. Hebert has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Science Education from Southern University and a Master of Arts Degree in counseling from UL Lafayette.  Ms. Hebert served as a science teacher at Carencro High School for 14 years. She has also served as a high school counselor at Carencro High School for five years. In addition to her service, Ms. Hebert has been awarded High School Counselor of the Year for Lafayette Parish this year, Carencro High School Teacher of the Year in 2005, and she was a Lafayette Education Foundation Teacher Award Nominee in the years 1998-2004.

Ms. Pauline Duplantis has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from UL Lafayette and a Master of Education Degree in Guidance and Counseling from UL Lafayette. Ms. Duplantis worked for the Diocese of Lafayette for 31 years in the positions of English teacher, counselor, and, finally, Director of Guidance.  She served as a guidance counselor at Alice Boucher Elementary School for two years and Lafayette High School for two years. Her most recent position has been Coordinator of Student Services for the Lafayette Parish School System where she has served the past 5 years.
