Extended Learning
Making the World a Better Place One Child at a Time
What is the Extended Learning Program?
In 2005, the Lafayette Parish School System offered Charles Burke Elementary an opportunity to provide students and parents with a before school and/ or after school program.
The goals of the program are:
- To provide homework support to student participants.
- To provide academic enrichment opportunities for children in order to meet State and local standards in core academic subjects
- To offer student a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs.
This program is self-sustaining as there are no local/state/federal funds to cover any of the costs associate with before and/or after school programs. Therefore, a small monthly tuition fee is charged. Parents can register their child to attend the program two ways at the school site from 3:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. or online.
