Property Tax Renewal Vote

On Saturday, November 21, voters in Lafayette Parish supported a 10-year, 7.27 millage tax renewal for the purpose of giving continuing support to public education and schools by providing funds for salary obligations, educational programs, management, academic advancement and educational enrichment. The tax renewal can be expected to reasonably generate $14,246,000 annually or 5.4% of the total operating budget for the school system.

On behalf of the Lafayette Parish School System, Superintendent Dr. Donald Aguillard wishes to thank the community for supporting public education in Lafayette. “The tax renewal is a critical step in Lafayette Parish’s journey to becoming an ‘A’ school district,” said Aguillard.  Board President Tommy Angelle also expressed gratitude for the support of the community and its willingness to make the necessary commitment to providing services to the students of the parish and allowing the district to move forward.
