Lafayette Charter High Attendance Policy
Students are allowed a maximum of 2 unexcused absences per month
Students who are 17 or younger who have 3 or more unexcused absences within one month are referred to the truancy office and the Office of the District Attorney
Students who are 18 or older who have 3 or more unexcused absences within one month may be released from LCHS
Students who are 18 or older who have 10 consecutive unexcused absences will be released from LCHS
Any student who continually violates this policy may be dismissed from LCHS or referred back to the home zone school
Absences may be excused for the following reasons (with approved documentation)
Hospitalization of the student
Hospitalization/illness of the student's child
Death of immediate family (parents, grandparents, siblings)
Outpatient medical procedure
Contagious illness-proper documentation required
All other absences are reviewed and a determination is made by the principal on a case by case basis
Work is never, ever, ever an excuse for missing school!!!
Students are allowed to enter the building up to 3 minutes late.
You must be signed in by your parent or you will be sent home and counted absent at 4 minutes.
Promptness is critical for high school and beyond
