Leukemia & Lymphoma Man & Woman of the Year Campaign

Traci Aucoin is the LPSS GEAR UP project director and a candidate for Leukemia & Lymphoma Man & Woman of the Year Campaign which raises money each year for cancer research. The donation drive is part of a 10-week campaign which concludes on June 1st. LPSS Superintendent Dr. Donald Aguillard gave special permission for Mrs. Aucoin to launch a district wide campaign in the schools to raise money for this important cause.

As a result of the tremendous success of the fundraiser, Mrs. Aucoin was invited to deliver Easter baskets to patients at the pediatric oncology unit at Women & Children's Hospital on Thursday, April 13th. Mrs. Aucoin was joined by two of her staff members, Rhonda Thornton & Dana McIntyre, campaign member Dwight Prudhomme of Republic National Distribution, along with other members of the LPSS central office staff, Joe Craig, Chief Administrative Officer; Kathy Aloisio, Director of Elementary Schools; and Randy Bernard, Special Education Specialist.

Everyone was excited to have this opportunity to visit with these children and share some holiday spirit.
